Parish Contributions Helped Sichuan Earthquake Relief Efforts
Report on Ya An Earthquake Relief Fund in Sichuan, China
On behalf of Bishop Paul Tan Chee Ing, S.J, Fr. Kou presented in a Chinese currency CNY 203,000.000 yuan to the Bishop of Ya An, Rev. Lei Shi Yin in the presence of Fr. Hu, Fr. Jen, Fr. Lui Jia Pei of Si Chang and other parishioners on 18th June, 2013. The Relief Fund was contributed by Melaka-Johor parishes, when the earthquake took place on April and May 2013.
Fr. Kou visited the broken houses, chapels, other properties — the old aged home, the health centre managed by the church to take care of the earthquake victims, the sick, the poor. The church there distributes also the rations to the needy.
The church and the people thank the generosity and tender care of Melaka-Johor Diocese parishioners and friends. They pray for God’s blessings upon them.
