Lenten Reflection Guide 2023
A Light of Hope
A Lenten guide based on the Encyclical Letter Fratelli Tutti of the Holy Father Pope Francis on Fraternity and Social Friendship
Introduction
This year, the focus of the Diocese of Malacca Johore Lenten guide is based on Pope Francis’s Fratelli Tutti
(“Brothers and Sisters All”), an encyclical on dialogue and social friendship.
As Christians, we are called to live a life that is marked by love in our relationships with one another
and by our care for creation. Fratelli Tutti (FT) can guide us in our Lenten reflections and lead us to repentance – when we fail to recognise our neighbours as “brothers and sisters”, or for not doing our part but instead contributing to the social and ecological crises facing our world today.
We invite you to enter into the journey of Lent and dive deeper into the reflections of Pope Francis with the goal of transforming our Christian lives as “A Light of Hope”.
