Leadership Gathering – Moulding Inspiration, Reform, Renew, and Often Reflect!
‘It was not you who chose me but I that chose you.’ These words were playing in my minds of every participant at the Leadership Gathering (LG) 2012 that was organised by the Melaka-Johor Coordinating Council with the theme Moulding, Inspiration, Reform, Renew and Often Reflect. This LG programme was held from 28-30th September 2012 ago. As many as 44 people participants from the various Catholic Students Societies’(CSS) under the Campus Ministry of Melaka-Johor attended this annual programme which aims to build up Jesus-inspired leadership values in the students ministry in their respective campuses.
The Speakers were from the Campus Ministry Team (CMT) and they were: Edrin Marconi, Kathleen Hazel, Estelle Liew , Karlvin Jungan, Clement Josos and Chalana Ezekiel. Among the topics that were raised up were “Commitment, Responsibility, Team Management and Team Work” , “Financial Management” , “Organize an Event” , “Societal Mission” and “Conflict Management”. There was also a workshop to test the participants ability to plan a programme following the criteria laid down by the speaker. The sessions were exhausting but relief came during the recreational session by Suraidah from CSS ROCK. At night, Geoffery Ranggu led Praise and Worship. After Praise and Worship the participants took some time of personal reflection with the Lord during the Adoration session.
The last day started with Lectio Divina where the participants were divided into groups and led by the CMTs. This programme was blessed with the celebration of the Eucharist and ended with a ‘I promise’ session. Based on the evaluation session, many of the participants felt that this programme was a success where every session was well run.
