The Diocese of Malacca Johore

We are the Catholic community of the Malacca Johore Diocese (MJD), journeying together in faith, hope, and love as part of the Universal Church. Embracing the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope, we strive to embody Pope Francis’ call to Synodality, inspired by the fruits of our Diocesan and Regional Pastoral Assemblies.

Spanning the historic states of Melaka and Johor, our diocese is a vibrant tapestry of cultural diversity, uniting Catholic faithful from various backgrounds in a spirit of unity and mutual understanding. Rooted in the rich heritage of these southern Malaysian states, we are committed to living out the Gospel through active parish life, meaningful social outreach, and deep commitment to interfaith dialogue and community service.

Our diocese stands as a beacon of hope, nurturing the faith of the Catholic faithful across numerous parishes, schools, ministries, and organisations. We walk together, listening to one another and to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, transforming our local communities through acts of love, justice, and solidarity.

MJD Pastoral Thrust 2025-2026

To all Clergy, Religious Communities and Lay Faithful of the Malacca Johore Diocese

Our Journey towards MPC2026 continues to be:

Walking Together in a Spirit of Communion, Participation, and Mission Towards MPC2026

As 2025 is the Jubilee Year of Hope, our Focus will be:

Walking Together as Pilgrims of Hope

This can be expressed through our Slogan:

Togetherness! (Communion) Together (Participation) To Gather! (Mission)

In the heart of Malaysia’s diverse and vibrant Catholic community, we embrace a transformative journey of faith, unity, and shared purpose. Our path to MPC2026 is not just a destination, but a profound spiritual pilgrimage that calls each of us to deeper communion, active participation, and meaningful mission.
